Florida Ecobags was founded by mother and daughter, Mary Walkley and Andrea Walkley, who share a passion for creativity, conservation, and the Florida lifestyle.

Andrea is a former biology, marine science, and environmental science teacher whose lifelong love for the ocean and wildlife inspired her to create a business that protects the environment while celebrating its beauty. Combining her background in science with her passion for art, Andrea creates the original artwork featured on every Florida Ecobags design—from sea turtles and manatees to tropical fish, dolphins, and the coastal waters of Florida. Her mission is to inspire others to appreciate and protect our oceans by giving retired sails a meaningful second life.

Mary is an accomplished entrepreneur, artist, and educator with more than 35 years of teaching experience. As the founder of Florida Sings Studio, she has helped thousands of students discover their voices through her innovative Connected Voice method. Her dedication to education, creativity, and craftsmanship has been instrumental in shaping Florida Ecobags into the family-owned business it is today.

Together, they saw an opportunity to rescue retired sailcloth that would otherwise end up in landfills. Today, every bag is handcrafted in Florida using authentic recycled sails and reclaimed marine materials, creating products that are as durable as they are beautiful.

Each design begins as an original acrylic painting inspired by Florida's marine life and coastal landscapes before being permanently infused into recycled sailcloth. The result is a one-of-a-kind, waterproof bag that tells a story of adventure, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
